Bespoke tall all-glass revolving door Model CFV 2500 AX N TALL ACW with collapsible wings and self-supporting construction
Seamless façade integration, fully transparent entrance design, and innovative safety features with automatic collapsible door wings
Located in the heart of Madrid’s business district, Torre Europa is a 120-metre-high landmark office building that plays a defining role in the city’s skyline. Originally constructed in 1985, the building underwent a major renovation in 2018 to transform it into one of the most advanced and visually striking office environments in Europe.
A key element of this transformation is the new transparent entrance hall, designed by CallisonRTKL. The cube-shaped glass structure creates a fully open and inviting arrival experience, achieved through cutting-edge glass engineering and a self-supporting construction of large glass panels, fins, and beams.
BDS Entrances was commissioned to develop a fully bespoke tall all-glass revolving door that seamlessly integrates with the façade. The design required an elegant, minimal appearance while remaining completely self-supporting, without structural connection to the surrounding façade.
In addition, the entrance solution incorporates innovative collapsible door wings, allowing the doors to fully open in emergency situations. This ensures both safety compliance and maximum accessibility, while maintaining the clean architectural vision.
The result is a highly sophisticated entrance that combines transparency, engineering precision, and user comfort. Together with the extended glass canopy, which frames the building’s identity, the entrance creates a powerful and welcoming first impression while delivering reliable, high-performance operation.
Designed for dependable performance
For Torre Europa, performance and reliability were essential. The bespoke tall all-glass revolving door is engineered as a fully self-supporting system, ensuring smooth and consistent operation without reliance on the surrounding façade. Even under high traffic conditions, the entrance delivers stable and precise functionality.
Precision-driven glass engineering
The entrance is defined by advanced glass construction techniques, where large-scale glass panels, fins, and beams work together as a seamless structural system. This approach enables a completely transparent and open design while maintaining exceptional strength and stability.
A future-proof entrance solution
Designed to meet the highest architectural and functional standards, the entrance combines innovative engineering with long-term durability. Features such as collapsible door wings for emergency situations and high-quality materials ensure safety, reliability, and performance for years to come, making it a truly future-proof solution.
