Kew Eye Tower, London, UK
Custom automatic sliding doors integrated into a reinforced stainless steel facade framework
Seamless facade integration, structural stability, and a transparent, modern entrance
Kew Eye Tower is a modern office building in London, designed as part of a wider commercial development with high standards for design and functionality. The client, Yuanda, required a main entrance that would work effortlessly while becoming an integral structural part of the building's façade.
BDS Entrances was commissioned to develop and design bespoke automatic sliding doors for the entrance. Working closely with the façade contractor, a strong stainless steel framework was engineered around the doors, allowing the entrance system to support the surrounding façade construction.
The result is a transparent, seamlessly integrated entrance with underfloor hidden operators, combining structural stability with a sleek, modern look and effortless daily operation.
Designed for structural integration
At Kew Eye Tower, the entrance needed to do more than open and close — it had to support the façade itself. BDS Entrances engineered a robust stainless steel framework around the doors, making the entrance an integral structural element of the building front.
Comfort-focused engineering
With underfloor hidden operators, the doors offer a clean, transparent appearance without compromising on smooth, reliable operation, even with high daily footfall.
A future-proof entrance solution
Built on the strength of an established working relationship with the client, the entrance at Kew Eye Tower reflects BDS Entrances’ commitment to quality design and dependable performance, delivering lasting value for both the building and its users.
